Do you think developing a relationship with a co-worker or a boss outside the office would help or hurt your job situation?
What good does a company vision do if your boss is unwilling and unable to share the strategic vision with you? Ultimately, we are the ones who will make it happen, but I can’t work toward it if I can’t see it.

If your bad boss had a nickname, what would it be?
I’m a project manager at a consulting firm. The place is great and I have no problem with my boss, but I cannot stand one of my co-workers. She never has a positive attitude towards work and contributes nothing to team projects. Although, she has mastered the art of prying into your personal business. How can I just zone her out so I can actually enjoy my job!

What do your friends envy most about your work environment?
As a person who works in the northeast, it’s been very refreshing to see how cool (no pun intended) bosses have been about letting people have flexible schedules and work from home during these latest snowstorms. It certainly leads to a lot less stress and creates good will for my feelings about my company.

How would you feel if your boss was younger than you?
So in my job there are a lot of bosses on top of the store managers, and in my job the district manager is a wimp, he dosent like confrontations. Whenever something needs to happen he has someone else do it and then diapears for a couple weeks till it blows over. I cant stand it. Be a MAN!
About a week ago, my boss unexpectedly passed away. Before this, I never realized how close I was to him. Even though I didn’t always think he was qualified for his position, we got along and communicated well. He was not only my boss, but also my friend. Even though its only been a week, I haven’t enjoyed going to work. The temporary replacement is not nearly as good of a boss.
Today was my birthday and as a surprise, my boss gave me a half day off. This is waaaaay better than some cheesy gift–thank you!
