If you are communicating a problem, never come in whining. Come in with a good synopsis of what’s going wrong and a few possible solutions.
For God’s sake, don’t cry. If it’s an emotional issue, do something to get those emotions out of your system before you have the conversation. Remember, it’s business, not personal. Be professional.
Prep. Prep. Prep.
Be honest and straightforward with the facts. Note potential impacts and have a plan for mitigating those that may be unfavorable.
